I was injured on 11/04/2007 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. I was employed by Transco Lines Inc. of Russellville, Arkansas. I had been a truck driver there for about 4 years. This is my story: I went to ER in North Little Rock about 2 hours after I fell from my truck and hitting my Head,Neck and Back on the steps of the truck. X-rays were taken and pain meds given to me and told to see our company doctor. I saw Dr. Ben Kriesel in Russellville and he gave me an exam and lite duty. Transco Lines has no lite duty. He gave me pain meds and sent me home. I returned in about 2 weeks and he took me off pain meds and told me to take physical therapy on my neck. After taking my therapy I returned and he said there wasn't anything he could do for me. I ask him to send me to a doctor that could help me with my head trouble. He sent me to see Dr. Rutherford in Little Rock. Dr.Rutherford sent me for test PET SCAN, neuropsycholgical evaluation. Well the personality test was what I needed. I was having fits of rage and all kinds of things going on from my head injury. Well my IQ was 78 and below 75 the Army won't take you. I still didn't get any treatment for my back and neck pain. Seeing that comp doctors didn't want to treat but just test I started seeing my own doctor for my pain. Dr.Qureshi ordered MRI's on my Thoracic spine and Lumbar spine. He treated me with shots in my spine and pain meds. (I have had 4 surgery to lumbar spine in past) After Dr. Rutherford got all his test back he told me to return to Dr. Kriesel but he and I had got into a fight before he sent me to see Dr. Rutherford so he wouldn't see me anymore. So the insurance company sent me to see Dr. Sharon Meador in Conway. I saw her and she said I don't see any reason you can't return to driving. I said no one has done anything about my neck so she orderd MRI on my neck. I returned in about 2 weeks and along with my wife we waited in exam room. Well when Dr. Meador walked into the exam room she asked who is she and I said my wife. Dr. Meador told my wife to leave the room and I said no I wanted her there so she could explain somethings to her about my head injury. Dr. Meador said no one can be in the exam room but her people as I was "WORKER'S COMP" she then said for us both to get out of her office. Well unknown to me she released me to full duty to drive a truck. She knew I was taking methadone for back pain. Well when I did find out she released me I called Transco Lines and was told to come in for D.O.T medical exam. I came in to Transco's office and they had someone drive me to the Exam. Well the doctor failed me and said I couldn't drive. So I went on to take FMLA and after 2 weeks was fired. That was 4/11/2008. I went into social securty office on about 6/20/2008 I gave them all the info about my injury on 11/04/07 and about 7/28/08 they called and said I was approved for SSDI and I got my first check with back pay about 8/7/08. Now Dr. Sharon Meadors said There wasn't anything wrong with me but I got my SSDI in less than 60 days. I know people that have been trying to get SSDI for 4 years. Well that tells me arkansas worker's compensation is a ripoff to everyone in the state.
